Manage Your Fire Stick Privacy and Data Settings

Stop Amazon gathering & sharing your personal details and streaming data by managing your Fire Stick Privacy and Data Settings.

Even if you have already manually updated the privacy and data settings on your Amazon Fire stick, you may find an Amazon update has automatically reset them back to the default settings that allows Amazon to gather and share your personal details and streaming data with other third parties.

To manage your Amazon Firestick privacy and data sharing, we recommend you periodically review the following settings.

Go to Settings > Preferences > Privacy Settings and turn off Device Usage Data, Collect App Usage Data, and Interest-based Ads. Additionally, you can disable data sharing from third-party apps and turn off personalised ad tracking under the same menu.

Different Amazon Firestick versions may be slightly different; and include other settings, such as Cookie Consent. If so, consider setting this to Decline All.

Key Privacy and Data Settings to Update:

Data Usage & Collection: Turn OFF Device Usage Data and Collect App Usage Data to stop sharing activity logs.

Advertising: Turn OFF Interest-based Ads to stop tracking.

App Usage: Select OFF to Manage Sharing From Apps to restrict third-party data sharing.

Content Settings: Go to Preferences > Featured Content to turn off Allow Video/Audio Autoplay to stop trailers from playing.
